About the event
The "Internal Trial Ranking Rounds" (ITRR) organized by the Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee at the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be) University, stands as a hallmark event fostering excellence in legal advocacy. It serves as a rigorous testing ground for participants. Students comprising teams of three, each consisting of two speakers and one witness take part in the event. A stringent researcher’s test narrows the field to the top 30 teams, who then advance to the oral rounds.
In the oral rounds, the distinctive feature of the ITRR emerges as each team adeptly argues from both the prosecution and defence perspectives. This multifaceted approach not only showcases the participants' comprehensive understanding of criminal law but also underscores their versatility in legal argumentation. Post oral proceedings, precise rankings are assigned to the teams, reflecting their prowess in criminal law advocacy.
These top 30 distinguished teams earn the opportunity to represent the School of Law, CHRIST University, in external trial tournaments hosted by other prestigious law schools across India. The ITRR not only exemplifies academic rigor but also acts as a crucible for nurturing the next generation of legal luminaries, equipping them with the skills and accolades needed to excel in the broader legal landscape. This event, steeped in scholarly tradition, underscores the commitment of the Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee to advancing legal education and advocacy.
